    Boxing: boxing is an effective means of defense. As a bare-handed combat skill, it tends to attack, shirk, move up and down, wrestle, making it easy to fight back. You can put it into practice after learning and mastering the boxing skills, as its defensive and offensive skills are easy to master. Repeated exercise and practice will enable you to defend yourself efficiently. Beating and toughened training can enhance the growth of body organs and psychology as well as inspriratary system of humans. It also sharpens your awareness of self protection and defense. Defensive skills can be acquired naturally in the process of beating and being beaten.  

     Boxing is a struggle through two fists, competing physical power, skill and mentality. Its factual performance are done in a square yard lined with strings, two athletes wear special gloves to combat under some rules. The only weapon is hands in gloves. Target of attack is limited to parts above waist. It is called “artistic combat”.

    Effects of Boxing

     Boxing has great effect upon human body and society in the following ways:

    Boxing strengthens your physical power. 

    Boxing competition is done with human’s explosive power, which must be exerted in shortest time to attack or defend. Plasticity and explosive power of the muscles of a trained athlete can be times higher than common people, and speed of such muscles are higher, too. More practice of boxing will bring you such explosive power and speed, enhancing the muscle quality. 

    In boxing training and boxing competitions, muscles are under high stress for long time, which requires a high endurance of muscles and other functional systems. Especially in boxing competition, muscles are used fiercely for long time. Less trained athlete will feel difficult to stay up for 5 rounds, because muscles and mentality are under high stress, and neutral system, respiratory system and circulatory system are easily fatigued. So taking boxing practice and competition can improve endurance, getting people more used to highly stressful job, training or competition.  

       Boxing also improves absolute power of the trainee, which is a must of boxing practice or competition to make a successful attack or defense. That’s to say, you have to destroy the rival’s absolute power to take the advantage. Therefore, many athletes think highly of absolute power training and do many exercises about upper arm to improve the attacking might. Boxing force of an excellent boxer is said to have reached 500 kg. Owning bigger boxing power can scare the rival out of confidence. But, absolute power is needed to combine with speed to make sense. Big force with low speed can hardly hit, making the force senseless. So, please pay attention to the combination of force and speed, to exert biggest force at highest speed is one of the key points to win a boxing competition.

     

    It improves flexibility and responsiveness.

     

    One of the basic and important qualities in boxing is high flexibility or acute responsiveness. Athletes need master all kinds of methods and skills and use them flexibly according to changeful situations, to adjust strategy and do many skill combinations. All this calls for good responsiveness, without which people will become passive and difficult. Those often participating in boxing practice and competition have got their responsive ability highly enhanced. Such good responsiveness used in daily life can make you feel relaxed and free, adding joys and happiness to life.

     

    It helps with bodily and mental health.

    Boxing is a sport program using both hand and brain. People in highly intensive struggles like boxing training and competition keep jumping and moving, and every act is done at the order of brain after deliberate and flustered thinking. So, kinetic organs and thinking ability of the brain as well as inspriratary system, circulatory system, neutral system are highly required and fully exercised. It is tested that athletes in competition breathe 3000 ml oxygen and pulse 200 per minute, and well- trained boxing athlete have got their heart bigger and pulse of heart muscles stronger. The participating age of boxing athlete, which is 40 or so, can be longer than those of other programs. For example, the boxing king Ali is taking part in professional boxing competition at 38, and another American boxing king Follman still stays in this carrier at 45. The one that beat Tyson, the new boxing king of the world, got this honor for the third time at 35. All this proves boxing as beneficial to human body.  

    Boxing is a bout of mental power as well as physical power of human body. Long practice of boxing will make people tough, bold and indomitable, more absorbed and persistent in his career. Boxing is highly competitive, so it requires a lot of responsiveness in emergency and a cool head in danger or under heavy stress. This also helps a lot when the boxer faces difficulty in daily life and daily business.
